Favourite object

I remember my toy giraffe it was a normal looking giraffe, orange with brown spots. But it was special it had a cream coloured handle at the bottom and then when you pulled it as far as it could go then let go and it would play calm relaxing music, as it played it would go back to its normal size. I would always pull it to help me get to sleep and then once it was almost done I would be half asleep but then it would finish, I would be really sad and get up and pull it again. Mum, Dad and Haidee would get a bit annoyed. He has moved house to house with me and is always there for me. My giraffe didn’t have a name or i just can’t remember it but it is still in one piece and it hangs above my bed in the corner of my room.

Street Memoir

The town was usual enough; it had
An old country school around the corner,
And a dairy across the busy road, a
Cemetery also across the road by
The school and even a little church,
That I never went to and a hall that
We always went to for school assemblies

My sister, My friends and I

Did what girls do - Ride our bike down
To the dairy and then bike into the
School where we would eat under
The big gum tree while sitting on a
Tractor tyre, Swung on the playground
Like monkeys, and went swimming
In my friend's aunties pool when she
Wasn’t home and swam as fast as
Fish getting chased by a shark
Doing nothing important
